Accumulation: Red Main

While roaming along the upper course of the River Roter Main, the artist Ulrich Stolz collected materials transported by the river. From this process of gathering emerged the artwork Schüttung Roter Main. Bottles, plastic parts, driftwood, plant remains, runoff from agricultural land, and more began to accumulate. A mound took shape, illustrating the current state of nature—and in particular, the condition of the Roter Main ecosystem.
