Wandler im Sonnenlicht (Sunlight Transformers)

Three figures wander through a flower meadow at Dresden Zoo. Their golden faces catch the sunlight. They are searching—accompanied and surrounded by bees pursuing the same goal. Together they follow the light, gather what the sun gives, and transform it into new life.

The sculptural ensemble consists of three figures that suggest a quiet movement. Oval brass plates, set at an angle on their upper bodies, reflect the sunlight while protecting the nesting cavities beneath.

As independent beings, the new species of Sunlight Transformers moves through Dresden Zoo—a creature living in symbiosis with its surroundings and in harmony with insects so important to human life.
